🌱 Eco Schools and Gardening at Nursery 🌼

At our nursery, we have been very busy in the garden as part of our Eco Schools activities 🌍✨ The children have loved getting hands-on with planting flowers, herbs, and vegetables πŸͺ΄πŸŒΈπŸ₯• while learning how to care for the world around them.

Gardening gives children so many wonderful learning opportunities. Through digging, planting, watering, and watching things grow, the children are learning about nature, growth, and the importance of looking after our environment β™»οΈπŸŒΏ

These activities link closely to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), including:

🌎 Understanding the World – exploring nature, seasons, and caring for living things.

βœ‹ Physical Development – building fine and gross motor skills through digging, pouring, and planting.

πŸ’¬ Communication and Language – encouraging conversations, questions, and new vocabulary.

😊 Personal, Social and Emotional Development – developing confidence, teamwork, and a sense of achievement.

Outdoor learning is such an important part of children’s development, and our garden has become a lovely space for curiosity, exploration, and discovery 🌞🐞 The children are so proud of the plants they are helping to grow, and we are excited to continue watching our garden flourish over the coming months 🌼🌱

We look forward to sharing more of our eco-friendly adventures with you soon!
